    • KidsKnowIt.com: KidsKnowIt.com is one of the most popular sites out there for educational children's movies. Why? The site provides topic specific movies for kids such as films about Acid and Bases (Chemistry), Jupiter and Mars (The Planets), different parts of speech and parts of physics. The site has hundreds of movies that are great for teaching both parents and kids to a few factoids. The best part? Many of the movies are on the short side so parents can enlighten their children a little bit at a time without worrying of overload.
    • PBS Kids: Though it isn't the best site for full-length movies, you can catch many of your child's favorite PBS movies and shows online at the network's website. From WordGirl to Fetch to Curious George, kids can catch all of their favorite shows that help them both learn and grow.
    • Scholastic Kids: The website for some of your child's favorite books is also a great place to find some of their favorite short movies. Catch favorites like the Magic School Bus movies and series episodes or other movies like those featuring Clifford the Big Red Dog. Whatever movies your child is craving, Scholastic Kids is just the place to help them find educational features.
    • Discovery Kids Education: If you're a fan of documentaries and things of that sort, be sure to check out Discovery Education online. In addition to documentaries such as Parts of the Whale, there are numerous movie shorts from Bill Nye the Science Guy among others.
    • Brain Pop: Brain Pop is a great site if your child needs to learn something on a particular topic. Covering everything from the tenants of science to English to arts/music, the site offers so many movies to help children learn as much as they can. The movies -- usually animated features -- are also a lot of fun for parents to watch too! Some of these allow for free download. Taking these movies to go is a great way to teach your children and kill some time while you're out!

            •  I used alphabet stickers and pictures on my ball so that my son could tell me what the picture is and what sound it starts with.
            • The game: toss the ball to your preschooler, have them look at the ball when they catch/retrieve it and name a letter they see, or the sound the letter makes, or a word that starts with the letter, etc.
            • Another fun summer alphabet/number review activity, is to use beach balls!  I had bought a pack of two beach balls for a dollar at our dollar store.

I used a Sharpie marker to write all the letters on it.
