FISH PARTY
*I let the kids play until everyone had a prize
Invitations:
*We had it from 11am-1pm so that I could serve lunch
FOOD
We served:
1. Goldfish Crackers,
2. Swedish Fish swimming in Blue Jello
3. Tuna Sandwiches (I made PB&Jelly in addition just in case some did not prefer Tuna). Which I would have loved to cut out into fish shaped sandwiches, but could not find a fish cookie cutter anywhere, not to mention all the wasted sandwich that would come with the cuteness! And,
4. Watermelon that was served in a carved watermelon! I only got a picture afterwards, not when it was filled with watermelon...sadly.
We had regular white and chocolate cupcakes a friend made (which were delicious) topped with blue frosting, edges rolled in blue and green sprinkles, with a Swedish fish on the top middle of each!
I know the picture does not serve it's purpose, you cannot see the blue and green sprinkles around the edges, but sadly this is all I have. |
Games:
1. Fish Walk
Play it just like you would an old fashioned cake walk (kids walk around in a circle stepping on numbered papers while the music plays, when the music stops a number is called. The kid who is on the number gets to pick a prize.)*I let the kids play until everyone had a prize
2. Fish Toss
I made these out of socks that haven't had matches for a few years now!
Simply fill the sock with rice, beans, lentils, etc.,
tie it up with a regular rubberband,
cut any excess off the end forming a cute tail fin!
glue buttons, beads, google eyes in the place of an eye with a gluegun!
THATS IT!! You're done!
Have the kids toss them into any bean bag toss you may have, buckets, etc., they love it!
*I wanted to give these out to kids as party favors, but I didn't have enough socks!
*You could also ask kids to bring an old sock and have them make their own!
3. Fish For Your Treasure
we had a sandbox filled with fun inexpensive toys, rocks, etc. Each child was allowed to dig and keep three (3) items they found.
