Try this FREE Mozilla Firefox Add-on: great for parents and creates a safe and optimal environment for children!

I love this new Add-On  for Firefox!! Zoodles Kid Mode - Firefox for Kids 2.1by Inquisitive Minds, Inc.
"When your kids want to play online, put Firefox into Kid Mode! Protect your computer and delight your kid with a safe environment that's filled with fun and learning. Zoodles Kid Mode makes it easy for kids 8 and under to independently   play online."  --Inquisitive Minds, Inc.
This add-on allows parents to individualize a child accessible safe internet page that allows children under the age of 8 to explore and learn through educational games and applications.  Parents can block personal preferences such as games or activities that include unwanted shows or characters such as Pokemon, Barney, or any other personal unwanted material parents deem unfit for child-viewing.
This is a parent and child friendly add-on that allows parents to track what their child views.  Parent can also create individual web browsing pages for each child. Parents can specify what areas of education they want their child to focus on more, whether or not each child has the option to watch videos, and if videos are allowed, there is also an option for setting time limits, as well as many other useful features that provide children with learning opportunities and increased computer skills that will allow children to gain more self confidence and independent skills.
My daughter uses this add on with her two boys (ages 3 and 6), and loves it!  She set each one up with an individualized child-friendly web browser, and they are excited to show what they can do or what they have learned.  She likes to go back and view what they created with in their "art" portfolio, and what areas of the site they had accessed the most.  It's exciting for both parents and children!
I highly recommend this add on to any parent or guardian looking for safe educational activities for children.
**The "Zoodles Kid Mode" is Free but is parents that want to have more control over their child's "Zoodle experience" can subscribe to the Premium Mode, which includes additional features such as, violence filtering and detailed activity reports on what their kids have been playing and learning on Zoodles, this is $7.95/month.
