Family Winter Fun!!!

http://familyfun.go.com/winter/

Getting down about the cold weather? For me I do thrive off the heat and light of the sun. I crave for those months where I can walk around in just shorts and flip flops. Here is an awesome Disney web page that I found to spice up those depressing months and get moving.
Here are a few other ideas:
*fresh snow on the ground is like a blank sheet of paper. Play "house" outside by walking your way through the snow to outline your house walls then trace with your foot prints the rooms, kitchen, doors, etc. It's fun for the kids to get moving and thinking at the same time and using their imagination.
* If you need some time outta the cold and in with the warmth check into tanning beds! Yes all you hear are the bad things about tanning beds but if you use your common sense and protect your exposure you can very much enjoy a tanning session or two during the winter.
The various benefits of tanning beds are as follows:

-Convenient and Saves Time: Tanning beds are quick and convenient. Just a short visit to the local tanning salon is all that is required to have a beautiful tan. It works faster than the sun rays to give you that tanned look. Hence one does not have to set a considerable amount of time aside for it. Moreover a tanning bed can also be used even in the evening, whatever suits one's schedule.

-Melanin Production: Exposure to ultraviolet rays triggers the production of the pigment melanin that gives the tan we desire so much. This pigment protects the skin from being burnt due to over-exposure to ultraviolet rays.

-Vitamin D Production: When exposed to either natural or artificial sunlight, our skin produces Vitamin D. This vitamin is very important in keeping our teeth, bones and joints strong. Vitamin D also prevents uncontrolled growth of cells through the process of apoptosis. New scientific research has been conducted whereby it has been identified that exposure to UV rays actually helps the body create a natural supply of Vitamin D. Since many unfortunate diseases are linked directly to Vitamin D deficiencies to include both osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, using a tanning bed to increase these vitamin levels is a huge benefit. In addition to strengthening bone, Vitamin D is also essential for the prevention of many forms of cancer to include prostate, colon, and breast.

-Less Probability of Getting Skin Burns: Tanning beds filter out the UVB rays that cause skin burns. Hence getting a tan from tanning beds is less harmful to the skin, as far as skin burns are concerned, than exposure to sunlight. Hence tanning beds are considered by many as a safer alternative to sun rays.

-Gives a Healthy Feeling: Studies have shown that tanning bed sessions can significantly improve one's mood. An individual feels more confident and happy at the bronzed look that he/she wears after a short session in the tanning bed. It is also known to increase an individual's self confidence and morale.

In fact, more than 50% of people who enjoy indoor tanning say that they actually use this form of tanning as a means of controlling how much exposure to the sun they get. In other words, they can determine the amount of UV rays by choosing the schedule time in the "sun."
